Dr. Olaf Sieker obtained his university degree in economics from the University of Bayreuth in 1995. After completing his studies, he worked at KPMG in Hamburg and London until 2000 in the areas of audit and later corporate finance (corporate restructuring), most recently in the function of an authorized signatory (manager).

In 2000, together with some former colleagues from KPMG, Dr. Sieker founded ifas independent financial advisory services AG & Co. KG, a Hamburg-based consultancy specializing in M&A transactions, which is now part of the auditing company Susat. From 2004 to 2007, Dr. Sieker was a member of the Executive Board of MeVis Distant Services AG, Bremen, and from 2004 to July 2007 he was also Managing Director of Grant Thornton Financial Advisory Services GmbH, Hamburg.

In 2007 and 2008, Dr. Sieker assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at MeVis Medical Solutions AG in Bremen. In this function, he took the MeVis share to the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as one of the last successful IPOs before the financial crisis. Following his scheduled retirement as CFO, Dr. Sieker founded the “new” ifas in January 2009 together with Prof. Dr. Annett Cascorbi.
